Ok, I have left you waiting long enough! Here is the reveal of the stairwell. I always hated the hand rail, it seemed as though it was just hanging there. This is something I have been mulling over for a while. I figured, I tell my clients "It's just paint!" on a daily basis, I should probably live by my own advice. I started at 3:00 in the afternoon, and by 7:00 I was all finished....including the gallery wall!

ignore the empty frame....hung but not filled:) |
I chose a satin finish for those little grimy fingers, and it casts a really pretty sheen too.
I added a gallery wall too...and a mirror at the top and bottom of the stairs. |
I didn't stop with the stairway, I took the green all the way around. And I couldn't be happier. It makes waking up in the morning and trudging down the stairs just a little bit easier:)

Totally love what you did in just a few hours.
It went from drab to fab!

Wow- it looks amazing! What a fun color green. I also love using Ben Moore paints! And great idea for using a satin finish. That's great for high traffic areas! :)
WOW......And the power of paint just keeps on going!!! It looks so good!!! What a difference.
Amazing difference! The color is just beautiful.
How fun - way to go for it. I've been mulling around with painting our first floor and I just need to do it. I'll be so much happier. Now I'm also considering doing our stairs/railings too now that I see your post. Ours is all wood on wood on wood and I think it needs some black. This looks great - enjoy that new look!
I love the Dash and Albert runner. Did you have a carpet installer do it and was it a custom order?
I just came over from Sherry's blog and I'm dying for these stairs. Incredibly beautiful. I'm going to pass this along to a client for inspiration! GREAT work!
I saw you over at Design Indulgence and wanted to see more, Green, black and white is a fave color combo. What you did was brilliant! And I'm happy to find your great blog!
awesome, gal.
