They are sheets! Yes, sheets. I figure if 300 thread count Egyptian cotton is good enough for sleeping on and being washed over and over, it must be pretty good fabric. And when I saw the colors, in the package on sale at Tuesday Morning. I had been trying to find a fabric to match the boat in the painting in the dining room, with no luck, so when I saw these, I couldn't resist.
I mean, when it works, it works! Oh, and you all know I am a LAZY sewer, so they are already hemmed! All I did was measure, rip (cotton rip in a straight line!) and sew the edges. Easy peasy. And I love the 2 colors....it gives them just a little punch of fun.
So here is the dilemma...what to do with this side of the room....

Oh, and how about the new tv stand? It has that vintage modern vibe...found at a thrift store for $75....walnut, VERY HEAVY...(promise, I have a HUGE bruise on my leg and a crushed nail to prove it, the battle wounds of moving furniture!) I had been looking and looking for a while now, most pieces were too high or too short. Orignially this one was too High WITH the legs, so we removed the legs and it is the perfect height. I love modifying furniture to fit my needs.
And aren't those little foot stools cute. Covered in the pillow cases from the sheets package. Use what ya got! Some people would say that the sheets won't hold up to feet all over it...but I scotchguarded them and we will see. And really people, by the time they are worn out, my tastes will have changed and the whole room will have a new design....really! I don't do this for clients, but for myself it is ok.
Is it Wednesday already????

I love that you can make simple things look so elegant!
I think sheets really look so much better than vertical blinds ~
